I am a slow reader and equally slow to write a review! I loved this book. It was fun to read and I see myself TOTALLY as one of the girls in this book. Perfect read while at the beach. Hey Gayle Adams Bell...if you're reading this, when is your next book coming out?
The Last Bikini is another great offering by Gayle Adams Bell. Wonderful in its own right, this novel continues the story of The Dickys, a complex group of college roommates who remain connected for forty years. These women will enter your heart and never leave it. Funny, endearing, exasperating and often surprising, their antics will make you wish you had met them in your twenties so that you could still have them in your life for the next 40 years! Speaking as a brand new 60-year-old myself, I LOVE the idea of celebrating the milestone with a treasured group of friends who remember when I proudly wore mini-skirts and didn't regulate my life around root touch-ups. Reading The Last Bikini made me want to laugh, to cry, and to grab my college roommate (BFF!) and head for Mexico! Naked!
Very much for chicks. It's an insightful look at how women think, feel and evolve. I felt I could see a little of myself in each of the characters and their experiences (review is by Cheryl)
